I find the thread fascinating. I found "silver strealers" a educational read.

Talking to a 80 year old about the truth of pearl harbor. Talking to a 70 year old, award winning marksmen and military sniper. Explain how Kennedy was shot. Theory on who (organization), but concise on how. The WWII vets that won't bye Exxon Mobile gas. The truth of the civil war. The truth of our war in Afghanistan. Most people didn't know we were at war there before Iraq.

We are blessed with a "free press" and a world class education system.

Past history, motive and a little common sense, you get the picture. Then talk to some people from the era and you'll understand why history repeats it's self. We never learned it the first time. As we get older, those lies start to bother you.

That's the common thread among all of us, we're lied to and sheltered from the truth
most of our lives.

I remember reading in a book about the Cosa Nostra, that a Pentito (whistleblowing mafioso) claiming that the most rare, valuable commodity amongst even mafia members inside the circle, is the truth. Where deception is a way of life, truth is more valuable than gold or silver.

But that truth is kept away from the masses and lies take their place. The original lie that a piece of paper with official marks on it actually represents a real existing quantity of gold and silver demonstrates that the belief in lies (in GLD we trust) is at the core of most of the troubles in the world.

But, as with gold and silver today, only a tiny few seem to be interested in the truth.
