Yes folks, once again its that time for the most anticipated game of the year.

GridIron Gridlock..Puppy Style!! Today at 3pm

Peace,
Mertis

The biggest event on all fours is back! Puppy Bowl returns for its ninth consecutive year with an all-star, all-adorable cast that's ready to mix it up on the grand gridiron of Animal Planet Stadium. Puppy Bowl IX brings viewers a loveable lineup that's itching to play in a winning combination of terrier tackles, touchdowns, puppy penalties, fumbles and Fido first downs. Featuring fan favorites like the Water Bowl Cam, tail-gating fans, and the hamster-steered blimp, this year's big game is sure to be a tail-wagger. For the first time ever, viewers can see slow motion replays with the new Cute Cam. And be on the lookout for the hedgehog cheerleaders. Also, don't miss the debut of the puppy hot tub, where puppy players can cool down after tearing up the field. From barking beagles and spunky spaniels to everything in between, we've got the cutest players taking the field on the most action-packed Sunday of the year. Plus, back for another year is the popular Bissel Kitten Halftime Show, guaranteed to bring the house down! And, sideline reporter "Meep the Bird" will return to tweet live updates throughout the game. Follow @MeepTheBird on game day for the latest news, puppy penalties and behind-the-scenes moments from inside the stadium.

Mertis, one of the ways in which I can proudly display my level of immunity to the "noise" of the propaganda machine is that until your post I had forgotten that this was "Super Sunday."

Note that this is not easy to do -- even in Canada. Our own Corporate Media does its best to manufacture I-love-the-USA lap-dogs here in Canada; whose life-long "ambition" are to become Junior Americans. Indeed, the Corporate Media has even managed to get one of these insipid lap-dogs elected as our Prime Minister.

So there is almost as much Super Bowl hype on "Canadian" Corporate cable channels as there is on "American" Corporate Cable channels. This shouldn't surprise anyone -- since the Oligarchs who own ALL of these outlets have no national allegiance of any kind.

Of course all adults with even semi-conscious minds can't help but notice that the propaganda machine spends almost as much time hyping "Super Bowl advertising" as it does with the game itself. If that doesn't tip people off that this "event" is nothing but another one of our Masters' mind-numbing brainwashing exercises, then what will...?

Liberate your mind. IGNORE the Super Bore...

...and we can never forget that at some point in this brainwashing exercise the Propaganda Masters will bring the whole dog-and-pony show to a complete halt; so that all the Sheep can "salute the brave men and women of the U.S. military".

I barely knew that hockey was on strike. Guess you have your own media bias, as do I. I went to bed at half time. It was a "school night." So I guess you will ingnore whats left of the hockey season and the Stanley Cup? To do any less would be hypocritical. Or you can let us have our passtimes, knowings its foibles, and not succumbing to its corporate crap. Just enjoying the game and the company we are keeping. Friends

Brian, the problem with this song-and-dance routine from the U.S. propaganda machine (and we get this now in Canada too) is that it's pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to "support the troops" without also supporting the war.

I've been clear that my gripe isn't with U.S. service personnel (save for the occasional boastful, remorseless assassin) -- most of them are just considered "fodder" by their own government. My gripe is with these phony, staged "wars": using military personnel as pawns to stir-up hatred and chaos in the world.

As for the Game itself, obviously we're all free to enjoy whatever entertainment tickles our fancy. But just as with the Olympics; it's nearly impossible to "enjoy the game" WITHOUT taking in a large dose of brainwashing at the same time.

In that respect, we Canadians are somewhat luckier. Because hockey doesn't attract as much MONEY as the NFL, we can enjoy our own sport with only a MODEST serving of Corporate brainwashing piled on top...

I find the ads are often more amusing than the game. However, I won't go buy an Audi, I wont visit the go-daddy site, I don't drink bud or bud light. People are capable of being entertained, without being brainwashed. I am with you though in part, group conciousness can certainly take over the weak minded, and that isn't healthy at all. That extends to investment methodology and doing your own DD.

OK Brian, so the Corporate Advertising Hydra can also be a seductive siren. Yes, in spite of myself I'm forced to give my grudging admiration to some of these hucksters; and some I simply like (shamelessly).

I can't stop myself from liking the latest Shill for "Wendy's". Last year I was practically tapping my toes when Subway's "Five-dollar foot-longs" jingle would come on. And as noted in our "music" thread, when the Corporate Advertising Hydra usurps some great piece of music (or even an average one), it becomes especially hard to resist.

What's funny is how the Corporate Media basically censors itself when it comes to using the MOST-POWERFUL advertising stimulus of all: sex. So while it will pimp-out all of our great musical composers, they wouldn't show the "Super Bowl" commercial which (Marilyn Monroe-clone) Kate Upton did a year or so ago for "Carl Jr's" hamburgers.

Let me tell you! That commercial made me hungry for a...a...oh right, a hamburger.

The "REAL" Super Bowl was "the puppy bowl".

Promoting "pet adoption". This from a couple with NO TV for the last eight years.

One person is talking about "Suicide Bombings", the other a add for a "Audi".

Your going to drive me to a beer. More than one-

Thank You
Earl
