What did he mean by the education quote ?

I can't confirm this but here's my opinion on it.

If you can control the education, the text books, curriculum etc. Then you could ultimately shape society how you wish to.

Way back when, you used to be taught your morals and education from your mother and Father at home. This would mean that each family would have various degrees of education and morals.

It's said that it only takes a few generations for the change to become permanent and forgotten, the resistance only lasts a generation or two before it's becomes the norm. I'm sure you could relate this to many different things, right off the top of your head.

Like the quality in products, use of certain ingredients in food.. I mean how did the saying, "They don't build things like they used to" become a saying if that wasn't true right.

For the record too, I don't know what to make of this video myself, but it does bring up some good points that fit in with that quote.

Good question Samix, in fact I puzzled over that rather cryptic remark myself.

Let's give Hitler credit for being somewhat prophetic and envisioning public education as an EXTENSION of the propaganda machine. And thus this "liberal" social policy becomes a VEHICLE for transforming society in accordance with the (secret) wishes of the fascists???

Of course I'm interpreting this with the benefit of hindsight...

Paper money has had the effect... that it ever will have.
To ruin commerce, oppress the honest and open a door to every species of fraud and injustice.

“You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work, because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work, because somebody else is going to get what they work for - that, my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

Sorry Screwloose, but I've seen this before - and it's one of the most EVIL pieces of propaganda ever written.

As with most propaganda, it TOTALLY turns reality on its head.

Here's reality:

Our Oppressors have been DELIBERATELY increasing structural unemployment in our societies (and throwing tens of MILLIONS out of work) in order to DRIVE DOWN the wages of everyone who does have jobs - solely for the benefit of our Oligarch masters.

Obviously with the Fat Cats DELIBERATELY impoverishing our societies (and at the most extreme rate in 300 years), providing "social assistance" for those being thrown out of worker (and turned into the poor) is not CHARITY - it is self-interest for the Fat Cats.

Because if they do NOT provide social assistance the poor will NOT just meekly curl up into a corner and starve to death. They will commit CRIMES to survive.

Thus not only does any/every society which DELIBERATELY inflicts poverty on its own people have a MORAL OBLIGATION to provide them with social assistance, but it has a HUGE self-interest in doing so - to prevent crime (and ultimately rioting in the streets).

You would not get the TINIEST glimmer of those dynamics from reading the evil mythology contained in that quote.

Jeff

While the first line could be held to be opinion; are any of the other statements actually untrue?

Sorry Screwloose, I missed this question when you first asked it.

As for the rest of the quote, YES, I agree with it - but it's the WEALTHY who are grabbing 99% of every dollar which is RECEIVED but never EARNED.

Hearing the RICH complain about the "welfare" being handed to ordinary people as Corporate Vampires (and the rich themselves) such back $TRILLIONS every year in various forms of welfare is like losing your temper and spanking your child - and then having Jack the Ripper call you a "monster".

This new one came from member Snow Silver - as a comment posted on my latest article. Definitely worthy of inclusion here:

"Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value --- zero."

Two thumbs up Mertis! One for the quote itself, and one for the timing.

We were talking in the past about the lack of "philosophers" in our modern world. Perhaps more than a few would-be philosophers ended up as sci-fi (or fantasy) writers...?
