TOPIC: US preparing for invasion on Syria

Samix, the difficulty I have with such clips is that it is so easy to STAGE such scenes. This is what makes the BBC clip so much more effective in making a similar point.
Yes I agree, but I doubt if the western MSM will ever allow such a "slip" to be made!
Such evidence receives MUCH greater weight in Western legal systems, because the logic (and human nature) is pretty clear: people have no MOTIVE to present facts which are against their own interests and/or position. Conversely people have an obvious motive to produce "evidence" which supports their own interests and/or position
True.

From an interview that BBC conducted with a Jabhat An Nusra Islamist, currently branded terrorists by the US
This was the first broadcast interview by a member of Jabhat al-Nusra's leadership.

The emir was being cautious.

This was a Syrian fight, not part of a wider jihad. They had no hostile intent to any other states - as long as they did not support the regime.

There would be no sectarian attacks against Syria's minorities. Christians, especially, had nothing to fear.

"Our religion allows us to marry Christians, eat your food and live amongst you.

"We have many fatwas telling us not to exploit the Christians' blood and possessions. Christ is our prophet too - how much do you love Christ? I love him more than you do."

Samix, I would hope that readers here would at least give serious consideration to Jabhat al-Nusra's assertion that they do NOT engage in civilian bombings.

I've pointed out here again and again how Israel has used this SAME "false flag" strategy for more than 30 YEARS. It provokes Palestinian attacks against itself, through its endless assassinations, and its slow-genocide campaign waged against the PRISONERS inside its Gaza Gulag.

It then USES these attacks as supposed "justification" for "refusing to negotiate with terrorists" -- as this nation FOUNDED BY TERRORISTS continues to illegally steal more Palestinian land. And when Israel cannot PROVOKE enough "terrorist attacks" to maintain this farce in an even semi-plausible manner it simply ATTACKS ITSELF. We hear this directly from the propaganda machine itself, when it talks about "hundreds of rocket attacks" -- which land in the middle of nowhere, kill/injure no one, and do little-to-no damage.

Given this 30-year template (of success) which we have seen with the Israel/Palestine sham; it should not be difficult to believe that the West is using the same strategy in Syria -- and of course the same strategy as the 9/11 false-flag attack.

I have one simple question to ask readers. WHOM do you think is more likely to go around murdering innocent civilians: other ordinary people like us (in this case ordinary Muslims) who are also VICTIMS themselves; or OUR GOVERNMENTS?

And before you answer that question, let me remind you that Israel's government has had an open policy of ASSASSINATING anyone it doesn't like for decades; while the U.S. has just recently (publicly) proclaimed the right to MURDER anyone it calls an Enemy (i.e. a "terrorist").

In an age of openly lawless/murdering governments; we don't have to look for our Prime Suspects whenever we see innocent civilians being slaughtered.

P.S. I should not fail to point out that the U.S. was also founded by TERRORISTS.

For the first twenty years of the so-called "Revolutionary War" there were no open battles. U.S. "rebels" wore no uniforms. Their strategy was to HIDE in the trees, and then their snipers would back-shoot British troops as they marched by. Indeed, it was this military strategy which led to the American phrase "bush-whacking".

Of course in the 21st century vernacular of our own Fascist governments; we would not refer to men (without uniforms) hiding in the forests and shooting people in the back as "revolutionaries". They would simply be called terrorists.

FSA are the non-Islamist camps, but may have a couple of Islamic brigades under their banner.
What did Abu Mahmoud tell AFP's Herve Bar when he met him? 'The real revolution in Syria is over. We were betrayed. Our beautiful revolution was stolen by thieves and corrupters.'

He gave a detailed explanation of how some of the military leaders who joined revolution behave. He told of FSA commanders who push young people to the frontline while they sit back and accumulate wealth for themselves, build luxury homes and take two or three wives.

Perhaps if such a statement had come from a Russian or Iranian news agency or from a channel loyal to the regime, we would not pay it much attention. But it came through a French agency, from a country that supported the Syrian revolution.

I do not agree with his entire article, just this part stands out.

This puppet SNC seems to be loosing steam just like the previous one, it has been flip-flopping for the past some days between negotiations to no negotiations to now negotiations with members of the regime who do not have "blood-stained hands”.

LOL, the only members of the regime that do not have their hands stained may be the tea boy and the paper boy of the regime, shows how desperate they are now to negotiate with anyone, because ofcourse they cannot negotiate with the key members of the Assad regime as this will rob them off all credibility and they have had very little to begin with.
Members of the Syrian regime that have played a part in the “killing of the Syrian people” and have “blood-stained hands” have no place in negotiations over the crisis-wrecked country’s future, Syria’s opposition coalition said on Friday.
Infact I think that they have lost that remaining little also when they said this
“We agreed to reassure the Syrian brothers from the (ruling) Baath Party whose hands are not stained with the blood of the Syrian people that [b]they are partners/b] in the coming political process.”
Infact America seems to have recognized this and dumped the SNC as they are getting more and more close to Russia these days.
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem is due to visit Moscow, one of Assad’s main foreign allies, later this month. Russia also hopes Alkhatib will visit soon in search of a breakthrough to end the bloodiest of the Arab Spring uprisings.

Interesting Samix.

I've been simply avoiding most of the Western mainstream reporting on Syria (for obvious reasons); but I'm going to stop such "filtering" and see if I start to observe "cracks in the facade" on this side of the ocean too.

Al Arabiya is a pro-western site with major shares held by the MBC corporation.

I was thinking even as I wrote that last post that perhaps I should have qualified my remark a little more carefully. How's this?

I'm waiting to see if such materials not only appear in the unofficial Western propaganda machine (Al Arabiya) but also the official Western propaganda machine.

I was very surprised to see this cartoon at Sinclair's site today...

We all know Sinclair's views of the bullion markets (and the U.S. government's role in them). However, outside of that he has generally been a flag-waving American. Well he's certainly not "waving the flag" today.

And this goes to a general observation I make fairly regularly about the illusory nature of change. Viewed from the prism of the Present, "change" always seems to take place slowly. Not only is this our own illusion, but it's the same with the Oligarchs -- and one of their principal deficiencies/weaknesses.

THEY also see their scams, and lies (and military campaigns) as being relatively STABLE -- especially since they get half-deceived by their OWN lies from the propaganda machine. However, you wake up one morning; and suddenly EVERYONE'S attitudes have shifted.

Suddenly (nearly) everyone is looking at WHO the U.S. is labeling as "enemies"; WHAT they are actually doing to them; and WHY they are (really) slaughtering their victims...
