Interesting post Samak, but I find this somewhat disturbing.

Where is the need for our Mint to get into the business of being a bullion dealer? And what's worse is the whole storage-and-certificat concept.

I don't know if I've gotten into this topic since you've come to the forum, but I already have a GREAT fear of bullion confiscation. The motive is obvious - with silver inventories all but exhausted, and with the banksters having no more gold to dump onto the market.

And getting the sheep (the vast majority, at least) to allow THEIR bullion to be held in vaults as part of some "ETF" or "account" makes it SO easy to confiscate most of the peoples' bullion with nothing more than a few mouse clicks.

Obviously SOMEONE now thinks it's a "good idea" for our Mint to start issuing paper and KEEPING their bullion...
