Interesting post, T/A.

For me; it's not about the subject matter, but rather the speaker. I'm VERY surprised that in the FSA (Fascist States of America) where "free speech" is almost dead; that a police officer can not only speak out like this, but speak out while wearing his uniform.

The Fascists do NOT like this, at all. And it's because THEY have been brainwashing us (for many years) to kow-tow to the authority of the Uniform. If he/she is wearing a uniform (other than the silly costumes, like they wear at fast-food outlets and other corporations) then this implies that the person represents some facet of government -- and we are supposed to provide are unswerving, un-thinking support to such individuals. Thus the Fascists never want to see people in uniform speaking out against the Fascists themselves.

I would be very, very, very surprised if "Officer" Jack LcLamb continues to speak-out...without becoming (very soon) an ex-police officer.

I recently saw a reference to an old, but fairly well-known economic graphic, produced by an economist named John Exter. It's an inverted pyramid, intending to reflect the level of liquidity of various asset-classes.

While this graphic may have arguably possessed analytical validity back when we still believed that our own economic paradigm was legitimate (and solvent); it cannot be considered to have validity any longer.

The analytical point is this: what is the test for the "liquidity" of any asset-class? How it performs during some sort of economic crisis. When times are (supposedly) "good" (and the 'money' is loose); virtually all asset-classes are highly liquid -- thus there is no way to differentiate between them, with some (supposedly) precise ranking of this nature.

Thus creating a ranking of this nature implies that it is a ranking which applies to periods of high economic stress. This leads to an obvious point, in our Ponzi-scheme economic. In the NEXT period of "high economic stress"; SEVERAL of those asset-classes will undoubtedly be exposed as either totally worthless, or near-worthless.

Real estate -- With the largest real-estate bubbles in history, across most of the Western world; MASSIVE plunges in real-estate prices are a guarantee. Thus unless anyone wants to sell their real estate at pennies-on-the-dollar (versus current fantasy prices); their real estate will have ZERO liquidity.

OTC stocks -- These equities are already considered "high risk", in a world where most still believe are "markets" are legitimate (lol!!). What happens when the next "crisis" exposes the corruption of these markets (via catastrophic bubble melt-downs)? Very likely this class of equities will lose all liquidity...unless one wants to sell at pennies on the dollar.

"Muni" bonds -- Worthless to near-worthless (depending on the jurisdiction)
Corporate bonds -- Similar to OTC stocks. In a world of imploding debt-bubbles; NO ONE will want to finance any debt, except on extremely onerous terms. Exiting debt will thus have little-to-no liquidity.

Listed stocks -- Presumably the One Bank's "Master Trading Algorithm" will become at least partially exposed in the next crisis -- because it will RESULT in much more-extreme "crashes" when these bubbles burst. If the corruption of these markets is exposed (or even partially exposed) there may be little difference in liquidity between "listed" and "OTC" stocks -- they will all be regarded with deep suspicion (and discounted heavily).

Government bonds -- Worthless, at least all across the Western world

"Treasury Bills" -- LOL!!! Not only are "Treasuries" mere government bonds (and not a separate asset-class); they are the MOST obviously worthless, of all government bonds on the planet.

Fed Reserve Notes (and other paper currencies) -- Double LOL!!! The USD would already be fundamentally worthless even if the Fed had not already started counterfeiting it by the $TRILLIONS. And with most other Western currencies effectively mere derivatives of the USD (like the CAD, euro, and pound); they're worthless too. The only question is whether the worthlessness of all this paper is exposed at the BEGINNING of "the next crisis", or somewhere along the way. Western paper has reached its EXPIRY DATE.

And note that all of these observations don't account for any formal "Debt Jubilee", which is extremely probable as a consequence of the next melt-down; again, it could either occur immediately, or at some point down the line. Indeed, in Exter's entire pyramid; the ONLY ranking which would be certain to remain where it is before/during/after the Next Crisis is gold (and its cousin, silver).

This is becoming a more familiar story (in the sane parts of the world). The government of Kazakhstan has been buying ALL of its own domestic gold-mining production, and doing so for a few years.

There is an official ban on gold exports, except for a tiny amount being exported to Russia. The ban is for a 6-month period, but the government simply keeps rolling-over the ban each time it expires. Kazakhstan produces 22 tonnes of gold per year, so with annual global production now near 3,000 tonnes, this amounts to a little under 1% of global supply.

But with much-larger producers (like #1 China, and #4 Russia) also doing this, it makes the global gold production "pie" that much smaller. Mix-in the voracious gold consumption of India, via its imports, and consider that China imports huge amounts of gold (in addition to buying its own production), and that accounts for more than half of total global production, right there.

From the remaining, smaller half; 100's of tonnes of that gold is being bought by other central banks, then we have the small-but-significant "industrial" demand for gold, and the global demand for gold jewelry. Even though we exclude China, India, and Russia from that calculation (because we're already counting their demand); global jewelry demand accounts for over 40% of total demand, and is particularly strong throughout the Middle East (and Turkey).

Thus there is only a very small amount left over for "investment" -- i.e. ordinary people IMMUNIZING their wealth from the banksters' paper-currency frauds. This is one of the reasons why the U.S. is now doing anything/everything it can to economically destroy Russia. Russia has stepped-up its own OFFICIAL gold-buying to the highest level since the fall of the Soviet Union, meaning (presumably) the highest level ever.

This is also one of the reasons why we see the One Bank instructing its Western puppet governments (primarily the U.S.) to attack/overthrow nations WITH significant gold reserves -- and then steal their gold. It's why the One Bank felt compelled to engage in its economic terrorism against India, when India's gold imports surged higher...and the increasingly reckless, erratic, belligerent actions by this Crime Syndicate (and its puppet governments) it is why Russia, India, and China are now currently discussing a collective "security bloc".

Axis of Evil is CREATING an ‘Axis of Good’

Actions have consequences. DECADES of the One Bank's various gold-frauds and gold price-manipulation have brought us -- inevitably -- to where we are today: the One Bank contemplating starting a WORLD WAR to attempt to create enough chaos-and-confusion so that it's crumbling frauds can be maintained.

Kazakhstan’s Central Bank buying out all gold produced

For the recent two years Kazakhstan’s Central Bank has been buying all the fine gold produced in the country, reported, citing Albert Rau, Minister for Investments.

“Given the turbulent global economy condition, the National Bank has been buying out all the fine gold produced (…) annual production output stands at 22 tons a year”, Mr. Rau said, when presenting a draft law on precious metals and gems in the country’s Majilis (lower chamber).

“As a rule, prices for gold grow amidst growing demand (…) the latter is normally driven by volatility of major currencies. Currently, the keen interest to gold is assigned to the weakening Euro. Gold is seen as a stable harbor”, he elaborated.

When asked if the Government would allow gold smelters to sell gold to individuals after the country’s gold reserves are replenished, he answered “there’s never too much money in a family. In the same way, there’s never too much gold”.

The draft law seeks to oblige all gold mining enterprises to supply the crude gold to Kazakhstan-based gold refineries.
“Here in Kazakhstan we have three gold refineries. Any gold miner can choose the most suitable option. A permit to export crude gold can only be granted if all the three refineries refuse to process a certain gold-bearing muck. However, as of today, Kazakhstan-based gold refineries, the one located in Astana in particular, are capable of processing any raw material. The National Bank enjoys the preemptive right to purchase all the refined gold”, Mr. Rau elaborated...

Seems odd that target was so far out in left field in Canada. Other big stores, i.e Home Depot, Walmart, Lowes, etc. seem to be doing just fine and not a big difference than their US stores. Some difference in price mind you, but not blantant like Target was.

Micjer, you can sum-up Target's Canadian implosion with three words, "stupidity and arrogance". First, it's my understanding that Target didn't actually open/build any new stores, it just bought out a couple of Canadian retailers (primarily the bankrupt Zellers).

I saw two of those stores, stores I used to shop in when it was still Zellers. The CLOWN walking away with his $61 million in stolen money was too cheap to do any renovations. Basically all he did was glue a "Target" sign on the side of a bunch of Zellers stores and open them for business.

Because their product line is significantly different from Zellers; there was no convenient/rational way to simply slot their merchandise into these stores. So it was a nightmare to shop there. But the Clown simply assumed that all it would take is the "Target" name to draw-in all us Canadian yokels -- because Target is American.

You can't self-destruct that badly without catastrophic failure at the strategic level (i.e. at the TOP).

Dylan, I certainly concur. However, with regard to the 97%, the predictable anti-AGW response would be that because a single scientist typically publishes numerous papers, it does not reflect the number of actual pro-AGW individuals. Hence my attempt to establish some type of objective criteria.

" is highly probably that those with the most-significant insights here are not climatologists."

Jeff, I would not disagree. However, establishing that would involve peer review analysis which is far beyond the scope of this discussion. I maintain that for us laity, at our level, using credential titles as criteria is not unreasonable.

And this (of course) is the entire point. I express strong opinions on economic/financial/political issues because I understand them.

What we see with the anti-global warming THEATER (led by the Obstructionist U.S.) is the attempt to elevate the OPINIONS of those with no background/expertise in science as being EQUAL (in value) to those with genuine expertise.

They do this explicitly by expressing "opinions" on global warming (from the minds of people who have to use fingers and toes to count to twenty). They do this implicitly by "voting" on global warming again with these utterly ridiculous, utterly irrelevant "votes".

How do you prevent anything (substantive) from ever being done about global warming? Create a fantasy-world where there are 7 BILLION different opinions on the subject, with 99.9999% of those opinions being totally irrelevant.

Even if we forget about the (vacuous) "arguments" from the Obstructionists; the illegitimate TACTICS they have used -- again and again and again -- for roughly 20 years prove the illegitimacy of their position. When you're "right" about something, you don't need to engage in endless, sleazy tactics of deception/obfuscation.

What is most-disappointing with respect to all those people still brainwashed by the anti-global warming dogma is their inability to SEE these sleazy/despicable tactics -- no matter how many millions of times the Obstructionists engage in them.

Zero Hedge is reporting that the opposition from Greece's new Protest Government with respect to the (fascist) "economic sanctions" against Russia is now an effective "veto" within the EU. It's reasoning is this: so far, all sanctions against Russia have "required unanimous consent".

So, with Greece's new government no longer a Euro lackey-state, and with that government opposed to sanctions against Russia; does this mean (as Zero Hedge asserts) that Greece has an "effective veto", and that this is "a Russian victory"? Unfortunately not.

What happens any/every time the Fascists come up against some "rule" that they don't like? They either CHANGE THE RULE, or (when that's not possible) they simply ignore the "rule" (as is the case with the Constitutions of all our nations). Thus the appropriate headline with respect to Greece's opposition to Russian sanctions is not "Greece has a veto", but rather "EU about to break another rule"...

Putin's Unexpected Victory: Europe Furious That Greece Is Now A Russian Sanctions Veto

Two days ago, Zero Hedge first, and shortly thereafter everyone else, pointed out something stunning: the biggest surprise to emerge so far out of the new anti-Troika/austerity Greek government was not so much its intention to proceed with the first test of "Odious Debt" - this was largely known in advance - but its dramatic pivot away from Germany and Europe, and toward Russia.

As we noted before, not only has Greece already blocked all ongoing privatization processes, a clear snub of Merkel and the Troika which demands the piecemeal blue light special sale of Greece to western buyers as part of the "bailout", but is also looking at plans to reinstate public sector employees and announce increased pensions for those on low incomes: further clear breaches of the Troika's austerity terms.

But the most important message that Tsipras is sending to Europe is that (after meeting the Russian ambassador first upon his election) Greece is now effectively a veto power when it comes to future Russian sanctions!

This was first hinted when the Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, who arrives in Brussels today to discuss possible additional sanctions on Russia over the conflict in Ukraine, said a few days ago that the Greek government disagreed with an EU statement in which President Donald Tusk raised the prospect of “further restrictive measures” on Russia. As Bloomberg observed before, in recent months, Kotzias wrote on Twitter that sanctions against Russia weren’t in Greece’s interests. He said in a blog that a new foreign policy for Greece should be focused on stopping the ongoing transformation of the EU “into an idiosyncratic empire, under the rule of Germany.”...

Regular readers are now thoroughly familiar with the Puppet Paradigm in which we live. The supposedly "sovereign" governments of the West are nothing but lackey-regimes -- doing whatever they are told by their puppet-master: the One Bank.

I've characterized this crime syndicate of nations as "the Axis of Evil". The core of this axis are three particularly malevolent/despicable regimes: the U.S., the UK, and Israel. The UK and Israel are somewhat "specialists" within the Axis.

The UK can be considered the 'birthplace' of Modern Banking (meaning the One Bank's model of 'banking' as a crime syndicate). Its hub, London (i.e. "the City") is officially a lawless regime, not even subject to the laws of the UK itself -- let alone international law.

Israel has perfected any/every form of crime and strategy which can be invented in conjunction with the modern buzzword: "terrorism". Meanwhile, as the largest of the trio (by far); the U.S. represents "all other evils" not within the specialties of the UK or Israel.

For decades (generations?); the nations of the world outside this Axis of Evil have remained non-aligned, to the point where I frequently simply refer to these nations as "the Rest of the World". But no longer.

As the frequency, ferocity, and magnitude of the acts of terrorism (political/economic/military) by the Axis of Evil continue to increase exponentially; the Master of this Axis is now succeeding in doing what the Rest of the World was incapable of doing on its own: UNITING.

We've already seen China and Russia pushed into becoming the closest of allies, who have now formed their own "security" bloc. But while the "security bloc" of the West is nothing but a front for their reckless acts of terrorism; China and Russia are forming a GENUINE security bloc -- protection from the endless terrorism of the One Bank.

The latest development is the government of India now in negotiations to be officially added to this bloc. And note that (surprise! surprise!) like Russia; India is another recent/personal Victim of the One Bank's economic terrorism.

Some readers may have problems with the characterization of these nations as (the kernel of) an "Axis of Good". Here the words are relative. While no one could genuinely depict either Russia, China or India as "White Knights"; compared to the Axis of Evil, they are positively saintly.

United we stand; divided we fall. Fortunately, whenever Evil rises up in the world to threaten the COLLECTIVE SECURITY of humanity; it is instinctive for us to come together...

China, Russia, India FMs to meet in Beijing on Monday

Chinese officials are preparing for the upcoming RIC (Russia, India, China) Foreign Ministers meet, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said. The meet comes close on the heels of a much-hyped Obama visit to India. Chinese state media has cautioned India about US President Barack Obama’s strategy to “split” India’s relations with both China and Russia.

“Obama’s strategy is quite clear. He wants to split the relations between China and India, as well as India and Russia, in an effort to fulfil his strategy of a ‘re-balance’ in Asia,” state-run Global Times said on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said the RIC meeting will be held in Beijing on 2nd February.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will attend the 13th Foreign Ministers meet at the invitation of their Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.

The mechanism has become an important platform for the three countries to coordinate their positions and seek consensus and cooperation...

Jeff Nielson created a new topic "Worst nightmare" for gold (LOL!!!) in the forums.
It just keeps getting sillier and sillier. Now the precious metals lies simply look like the low-grade fiction of hack-writers. What is the subject matter of this vacuous rhetoric? uneventful FOMC,” analysts at TD Securities say.

Let me translate this drivel; since what is written in the Kitco blurb doesn't even come close to being a complete thought. The Fed Liars put out a particularly twisted piece of double-talk yesterday, which doesn't say anything at all -- and this is (supposedly) the "worst nightmare" for gold.

Given all of the extreme insanity of the past few years; using the characterization of "worst nightmare" to describe a complete non-event is yet another, new extreme from the propaganda machine, with respect to their infantile sensationalism. Note the difference between this drivel, and my own writing -- where readers also often see strong rhetoric.

When I use such extreme characterizations; it's almost always in conjunction with some "historically unprecedented event". In other words; the rhetoric matches the event. Here, there is no possible way in which any intelligent/objective observer could consider this extreme characterization to be the slightest bit valid. It's pure, Chicken Little fear-mongering.

This is another way for readers to QUICKLY identify the worst of the Corporate media's garbage, and thus avoid wasting your own time. Look for such extreme (and incongruous) rhetoric, and if you see it, move along -- "there's nothing to see here".

P.S. Note that what's below is the ENTIRE "analysis". The Liars couldn't even make-up anything else to go along with this drivel. All that Kitco (and its Masters) wanted is some pretext to say the words "worst nightmare" (for gold).

Can you say "desperation"?

P.P.S. The other (silly) point to this propaganda is that the Liars want to always pretend that every word, gesture, and fart from the Fed Heads represents the "most significant occurrences" (in the entire universe) with respect to gold (and silver) markets -- and prices.

Gold Longs' Worst Nightmare Comes True – TD Securities

“Unfortunately the gold longs worst nightmare came true - an uneventful FOMC,” analysts at TD Securities say. The bank says precious metals remain soft following a weaker close on Wednesday, and gold prices have a chance of heading lower. “Gold feels like it will test support of the 200-day moving average at $1253 spot,” the bank says. “Lower crude oil and a stronger dollar following the Fed minutes are weighing on base metals this morning,” it adds.

Greek Election Results Worry The Bankers

It becomes easier and easier to translate the propaganda of the One Bank (delivered by its messengers in the Corporate media) because the patterns of behavior of this crime syndicate continue to become more blatant/obvious.

The One Bank does not want to see any ‘defections’ amongst the member-states of the EU (i.e. any splintering of this totalitarian entity). The obvious reason for this is that the EU has morphed into a monetary straitjacket, as a single banking entity (the ECB) controls the printing presses of all EU states. To grasp the significance of this; we need merely refer back to the words of Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1744 – 1812), the original patriarch of the Rothschild clan, and architect of the One Bank...

Yes, DayOwl, Corporate Welfare knows no limits. But never forget that Apple is a mere pauper compared to the King of the Corporate Welfare Bums: the One Bank.

That is a lot of "welfare".

Jeff Nielson created a new topic Stealth "Rally" in gold/silver markets in the forums.
Readers know that I generally quote bullion prices in only one currency: USD's. The reasons for this are obvious. Like it or hate it (and we obviously hate it); the USD is still more-or-less the world's reserve currency. The other, obvious reason is that through "competitive devaluation" the One Bank generally keeps the currencies falling at a relatively uniform rate.

However, at present, with the USD pushed-up to an ultra-ridiculous exchange rate versus other currencies; it's no longer valid (at least not for the moment) to "think" only in USD's. For instance; Canada's Harper-crippled "Loonie" is currently trading lower versus the dollar than at any time in the last 12 YEARS.

While gold is an ultra-ridiculous $1300/oz in USD's, and silver's ultra-ridiculous USD price is at about $18/oz; in CAD's, gold is now at $1600/oz, and silver is at $22.50. Still ridiculous, but at least significantly closer to sanity than the fantasy, USD numbers.

A quick look at the 2-year charts at Basher Central shows that bullion prices haven't been trading at the (nominal) Canadian numbers in roughly two years. In the case of silver, which has been driven down harder/lower than gold; it's been nearly two years since prices were at this nominal level.

Of course; at this point the "rally" means little more than that. What will be very interesting is what happens in the next few months? Does the USD stay at this insane exchange-rate versus other currencies, and if so; what happens to bullion prices?

In virtually EVERY currency on the planet except USD's; gold and silver are currently having a real/significant rally.

Jeff Nielson, Jeff Nielson replied to the topic Re: The miracle of Wörgl in the forums.
P.S. This also explains why I've used the U.S. velocity of money chart as one of many "proofs" that there could not possibly have been any "U.S. economic recovery". Look how fast the velocity of money has fallen since the START of this fantasy-recovery. And obviously no nation whose velocity of money is the LOWEST IN RECORDED HISTORY could have any sort of economic growth.

My first thought was $9 trillion to "Non-bank borrowers outside the U.S.". Instead of stimulating our domestic economy. I'm thinking it's like our domestic oil, it doesn't stay here for "energy independence" it goes out to the highest bidder. So we open and give land to the oil cartel in the "name" of energy independence and low fuel prices. Which "sounds good", but is just a bold face lie and never happens.

Still haven't done my reading (lol); but that won't stop me from replying to this particular point, since this is a VERY popular game for the banksters (and their puppets in the U.S. government).

My first thought was $9 trillion to "Non-bank borrowers outside the U.S.". Instead of stimulating our domestic economy. I'm thinking it's like our domestic oil, it doesn't stay here for "energy independence"...

Congrats Earl! Those are precisely the thoughts which this particular propaganda is supposed to create in your mind. "The U.S. government is too generous/helpful to 'foreigners'."

The best example of this game after the Crash of '08, and the world DISCOVERED that the Wall Street Vampires had swindled them for $TRILLIONS with their "mortgage-backed securities".

Flash ahead 12 months or so; and we start getting reports of the Federal Reserve (supposedly) "bailing out" various European nations (i.e. their banks). Now here's the question: if you STEAL $trillions from your neighbours, and then you give them roughly half that amount in return; have you "bailed them out"???

Not on the planet I live on. Where I live; those payments from the Fed were what I call "damages" for the crimes of the Wall Street Vampires, and not even full restitution, at that. So this is one way in which supposed "U.S. charity" wasn't exactly how it was a collection of serial liars.

Then an even more-evil (and this more popular) game these Liars play is with what is called U.S. "foreign aid". For every $1 in food/medicine/farming equipment (i.e. stuff that actually helps people) there's at least $5 in MILITARY "aid" -- i.e. weapons of various sorts so that these poor nations can attack their neighbours.

And then (almost always) that's followed by some U.S. "foreign aid" to the neighbours as well, so everyone has all they need to START A WAR.

But what we have here (almost certainly) is yet a different form of "U.S. benevolence": imaginary benevolence. Refer to some of these older commentaries:

Federal Reserve Increases Counterfeiting
Maximum Fraud in U.S. Treasuries Market

The Federal Reserve has been counterfeiting USD's by the $trillions, going back to at least 2009. So when you perceive the U.S. people to have lost out, because of the "$9 trillion in foreign borrowing", that perception is based upon an implicit assumption, and that implicit assumption is erroneous.

Your assumption is that there is only a FINITE quantity of USD's, and every $1 lent to "foreigners" is one less dollar available for Americans. The truth, however, is that with the Federal Reserve being a shameless, serial counterfeiter; it has INFINITE "USD's" available to spray around.

If the U.S. government and/or the Fed wanted to do anything to "stimulate" the U.S. economy, all that is required to place a phone call to the NEW Counterfeiter, and tell Janet Yellen to print up another $trillion Secret Dollars.

Timeo Danaos et dona ferentes
"Beware of Greeks bearing gifts"

But this expression is 2,000 years old (or so), back to the time when Greece was the world's great power. The United States government are the new "Greeks".

Their "gifts" are never what they seem to be (i.e. what the propaganda machine presents them as)...

P.S. One of the reasons the U.S. government likes to play this fake-charity game is so that when people point to the U.S.'s rapacious trade practices (there are more "trade complaints" against the U.S. than any other nation), or some of its various other forms of economic terrorism; it can pull off this ludicrous White Knight routine with the American people -- and present other nations as a bunch of ungrateful whiners, rather than what they really are: VICTIMS.

I just stumbled across this fascinating, older article while doing some research. There are several points of interest here. To begin with; this piece of twisted propaganda was written almost exactly one year after I published one of my own, most ground-breaking commentaries:

U.S. Economic Terrorism the New 'Winning Trade'

What we see with this Washington Times article is the classic manner in which the U.S. deals with all of its own crimes, and anyone who attempts to "point the finger" in their direction. They LIE, OBFUSCATE, and (always) attempt to blame others for their own crimes.

I'm going to do a full commentary on this piece, because there is plenty of 'fertile soil' here (i.e. manure); so I don't want to give away too much at the moment. But look at this piece yourselves, and see if you can pick out particular ploys and techniques for its lies which we have seen again and again in previous propaganda. In that respect; let me identify some excerpts worthy of particular scrutiny -- and encourage Members/readers to supply their own "take" on the significance, starting with the opening paragraph:

Evidence outlined in a Pentagon contractor report suggests that financial subversion carried out by unknown parties, such as terrorists or hostile nations, contributed to the 2008 economic crash by covertly using vulnerabilities in the U.S. financial system.

Suspects include financial enemies in Middle Eastern states, Islamic terrorists, hostile members of the Chinese military, or government and organized crime groups in Russia, Venezuela or Iran. Chinese military officials publicly have suggested using economic warfare against the U.S.

LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Regardless of the report’s findings, U.S. officials and outside analysts said the Pentagon, the Treasury Department and U.S. intelligence agencies are not aggressively studying the threats to the United States posed by economic warfare and financial terrorism.

“Nobody wants to go there,” one official said.

Mr. Vickers declined to be interviewed but, through a spokesman, said he did not say economic warfare was not an area for the Pentagon to study, and that he did not block further study.

LOL !!!!!!!!! How's that for a piece of twisted, government double-talk???

The report concluded that the evidence of an attack is strong enough that “financial terrorism may have cost the global economy as much as $50 trillion.”

Because of secrecy surrounding global banking and finance, finding the exact identities of the attackers will be difficult.

Financial terrorism suspected in 2008 economic crash

Evidence outlined in a Pentagon contractor report suggests that financial subversion carried out by unknown parties, such as terrorists or hostile nations, contributed to the 2008 economic crash by covertly using vulnerabilities in the U.S. financial system.

The unclassified 2009 report “Economic Warfare: Risks and Responses” by financial analyst Kevin D. Freeman, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Times, states that “a three-phased attack was planned and is in the process against the United States economy.”

While economic analysts and a final report from the federal government’s Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission blame the crash on such economic factors as high-risk mortgage lending practices and poor federal regulation and supervision, the Pentagon contractor adds a new element: “outside forces,” a factor the commission did not examine.

“There is sufficient justification to question whether outside forces triggered, capitalized upon or magnified the economic difficulties of 2008,” the report says, explaining that those domestic economic factors would have caused a “normal downturn” but not the “near collapse” of the global economic system that took place...

Lol! I know the feeling Rroush. Sometimes I can't find a "thread" which I know is here, somewhere. And sometimes I just get so excited about some new item I post it on a new thread before I remember there's an existing thread where it should go.

Here we see a perfect illustration of the Machiavellian manner in which the One Bank perpetrates its economic terrorism. It takes its crimes and uses them as "evidence" or "precedents" to aid it in committing more crimes.

In this case; we have another "attack" on Russia's economy (i.e. more economic terrorism). But if you ask these media parrots why Russia's debt should be downgraded to "junk"; they will point to the collapse in the ruble -- a previous act of economic terrorism. And as the psychopaths pile-up their acts of economic terrorism; they all become self-reinforcing, in terms of the propaganda itself.

Why has the exchange-rate of the ruble plunged by more than 50%? Because Russia's debt is "junk"? Why is Russia's debt rated as "junk"? Because the ruble has lost more than half of its value.

Two points here. First of all; this is a classic illustration of "circular reasoning", where instead of actually explaining/justifying particular conclusions, you simply pretend that you can use the conclusions to "prove" each other.

The other, perhaps more-important point here is that all of this nonsensical propaganda revolves around PRICE ANALYSIS. As I've explained before: price is not a "fundamental" of any market or sector. Thus price-analysis is not even real "analysis"; it's simply pseudo-analysis. Yet this is all that the drones of the Corporate media (and their "experts") ever do.

They NEVER examine real fundamentals, except in the most superficial terms (i.e. they simply lie about the fundamentals). If you ask them to "explain" ANY market; every one of these charlatans will IMMEDIATELY point to prices.

How did all these drones become so totally detached from reality, so that they don't even realize that all their "analysis" is merely pseudo-analysis (i.e. jibber-jabber)? Because in legitimate markets; price is a PROXY for the actual fundamentals. It's the simplest way to attempt to "analyze" any market, for so-called "analysts" who lack either the knowledge or brain-power to engage in substantive, fundamental analysis.

And, living in a world of idiots; it should be of no surprise that the drones of the Corporate media exclusively engage in the easiest form of "analysis", even though that analysis no longer possesses the tiniest shred of validity (since we no longer have legitimate markets).

01:17 PM
The propaganda of the Corporate media gets more and more absurd by the day. It's why I've labeled this fantasy-world "the Wonderland Matrix". While we voluntarily "plug" our minds into the fantasy-world produced by the propaganda machine; unlike the movie "Matrix"; our fantasy-world makes absolutely no sense, whatsoever.

Rather than allowing this to infuriate us, however; it's best to simply laugh at the all the idiocy. In that regard; here's a good chuckle from the Kitco clowns:

Gold Prices Look Toppy As Spec Longs Rise To Two-Year High - Analysts

Of course to get the "joke"; it's necessary to supply context. We start with the fact that the price of gold is well over 30% below its all-time high of a couple of years ago. We add in the fact that with the price of gold just below $1300; it requires a price of at least $1500/oz for gold-miners to simply break even.

But it gets sillier (of course). While these (U.S.) "analysts" supposedly see the price of gold as being "toppy"; in the Land of Bubbles we see both U.S. stocks and U.S. bonds at (ridiculous) bubble-highs. Furthermore, it's IMPOSSIBLE for stocks and bonds to rise together (in legitimate markets), and they have never previously risen simultaneously in the history of markets.

Yet where do these "analysts" see a bubble right now? Gold.

Of course this is an old (U.S.) joke, some might even argue a "classic". Can anyone forget the hilarious version of this joke churned out by the Corporate media in 2007 and 2008? With the U.S. housing bubble (the largest bubble in history, at that point) having already started to burst; where did U.S. analysts see "bubbles"? In China, across an ocean.

As observed previously; based on usage of the term by the Corporate media, I've defined an "economist" as "a person who knows absolutely nothing about economics". I debated changing that definition to "less-than-nothing", but decided that some people might think that was unfair.

Now, based on the usage of the term "analyst" by the Corporate media, I can also produce a real-world definition for that term as well. A (mainstream) "analyst" is a person who is utterly incapable of engaging in analysis. This is why all the mainstream "analysts" always agree with each other. It's much, much easier for Fools and Charlatans to hide inside a herd. And we can't forget that many of these "analysts" are also "economists" (and vice versa).

Of course what this "game" is really all about is that the Corporate media is not allowed to talk about the "bubbles" where they really are, because that would WARN the Sheep, before the Wall Street psychopaths can "fleece" them (to the bone).

Buffett Sits on $50 Billion Cash-Hoard, Waiting for Bubbles to Pop

Here's a "classic" of my own; an old four-part series where I first explained what all the "bubble" propaganda really means, and Part IV is especially applicable to the current context.

Bubblemania: Part II, The Land of Bubbles

Gold Prices Look Toppy As Spec Longs Rise To Two-Year High - Analysts

Gold prices are starting the week under pressure, which is not surprising to some analysts who say that in the short-term the yellow metal has no room to move higher, as speculative gross long positions reach a two-year high.

According to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Commitment of Traders disaggregated report, money-managed speculative long gold positions increased by 23,429 contracts to 155,602, for the week ending Jan. 20. This is the highest level for gross longs since November 2012. At the same time, managed funds also reduced their short exposure, reducing short positions by 3,971 contracts to 26,261. Gold net-long positions now stand at 129,341 contracts...

Rroush, I'm simply not going to participate in any more of this silliness. ALL of your (so-called) "evidence" comes directly from the Compulsive Liars. They are YOUR "allies".

My "allies" are the global scientific community. The infantile article from Forbes "proves" nothing. As I point out again and again; the One Bank receives, for free, every year, roughly $100 TRILLION dollars.

They could pile-up $50 TRILLION of their funny-money (since they can't even use it all), and call it "Dark Money funding global warming research" -- and all I'll do is continue to laugh.

When the One Bank wanted to steal $20 or $30 TRILLION from our governments (after it manufactured the Crash of '08); how long did it take? A FEW DAYS.

Now you stand there claiming that the SAME banking cabal, pulling the strings of the SAME political puppets has been "trying" to implement its own Global Warming Agenda for the last 20 years, and failed???

What is stopping it...???

You can't use the anti-evidence of Compulsive Liars to "support" your own argument. The fact that you're obviously incapable of seeing the flaws in your pseudo-evidence makes wasting any more time here simply an exercise in masochism.

Jeff Nielson created a new topic More, silly lies after Greek election in the forums.
I'm going to cover all of the One Bank's post-election lies (following the win by Syriza) is a commentary -- this time for Sprott Money -- so I won't rehash all of that (which I just finished writing). Rather, I'll simply focus on one aspect of the silliness here: the "reaction" in precious metals markets.

What does the One Bank tend to do, automatically, any time anything happens against its own desires? It whacks precious metals. This is not as entirely infantile and arbitrary a reaction as it may first appear. In fact, virtually anything which goes against the wishes of the One Bank is supportive of higher gold/silver price. Thus to CAMOUFLAGE its own set-backs; it ALWAYS whacks gold/silver after any sort of defeat.

Of course such malice is invariably revealed, when the knuckle-draggers of the Corporate media attempt to "explain" these market manipulations. Today's "explanation" is especially moronic, because the One Bank's manipulation of gold/silver prices (lower) today is so painfully obvious.

The "official" explanation is this:

Gold prices are moderately lower in early U.S. trading Monday, on a classic “sell-the-fact” scenario following the Greek election results on Sunday. Traders had “bought the rumor” last week, heading into the important elections.

But in the very next paragraph; Kitco proves that its "explanation" is puerile nonsense:

Important weekend news saw the Greek anti-austerity party win elections by a wider-than-expected margin Sunday.

When do traders "sell the fact"? When a result is EXPECTED. With the result of Greece's election being unexpected (i.e. a surprise) the only direction in which legitimate gold/silver markets could have moved today is higher.

Ultimately; Kitco's "explanation" of precious metals prices today is an intelligence test. Anyone who believes Kitco's nonsense doesn't have any...

Gold Lower on "Sell-the-Fact" Following Greek Elections

Gold prices are moderately lower in early U.S. trading Monday, on a classic “sell-the-fact” scenario following the Greek election results on Sunday. Traders had “bought the rumor” last week, heading into the important elections. Profit taking from recent gains also has gold and silver markets feeling selling pressure to start the trading week. February Comex gold was last down $10.40 at $1,282.10 an ounce. Spot gold was last down $12.00 at $1,282.60. March Comex silver last traded down $0.255 at $18.045 an ounce...

Earl, it will take me a while to unearth anything of SUBSTANCE in what is (undoubtedly) a(nother) steaming, mound of lies. What I'll note for now is just a simple observation. I knew just from the title of your post that you were bringing us either propaganda or disinformation -- simply from the use of the word "credit" in the same line as "dollar".

The word "credit" always has a positive connotation in people's minds, even when used as a EUPHEMISM FOR DEBT, as we (once again) with this propaganda. I can illustrate this by simply 'translating' the first line of these banker-lies:

[quote]Banks and bond investors have extended $9 trillion of US dollar credit to non-bank borrowers outside the United States.[/i]

Oooh! "$9 trillion of credit" -- sounds good. Now let's translate it:

Non-bank borrowers outside the U.S. have taken on $9 trillion of U.S. dollar debt.

We look at the translation, and immediately the words "debt bubble" leap to mind. Note that this is only non-bank borrowing. How many $TRILLIONS of USD borrowing has been done by the banks? We don't know because (as always) the Criminals won't tell us, and our pretend-regulators consider it "rude" to ask.

Thus at least superficially; this is a classic illustration of the Wonderland Matrix. Hide as much information as they can from us, and what they can't hide they PERVERT with their Machiavellian language.

They are indeed both sides of the same coin. It makes sense then that they fund BOTH sides of the debate.

We can be more categorical than that, Dylan. This crime syndicate ALWAYS "plays both sides" in all of its scams. You must (at least attempt to) control both sides of an issue if you want to Control The Message (which is always a top priority of the banksters).

Providing (some) "evidence" of the Banksters playing the Other Side doesn't begin to qualify as conclusive. The question is WHICH SIDE does the One Bank want to "win"?

Here we go right back to "follow the money". The Banksters' rapacious, out-of-control industrialization is the nexus more its MULTI-QUADRILLION empire of crime. Conversely, even if it actually did create all the "carbon tax-credit" conspiracies we see in their laughable disinformation; they could only make a TINY FRACTION of that amount as The Green Bank rather than the One Bank.

This is the same argument which is also always decisive, any time anyone suggests that the Banksters are "going long" in precious metals (lol!). The paltry $trillions they could potentially reap by pushing-up precious metals prices could never compensate them for the $100's of TRILLIONS they would lose when rising gold/silver prices torpedoed all of their paper frauds.

Going "green" (no matter how the One Bank corrupted the movement) is not entirely evil. And there is ALWAYS more/easier profits to be made through being completely/unequivocally evil than there is through engaging in quasi-legitimate activities.

We see the proof of this merely by looking around. The One Bank's crimes continue to get more and more evil, by the day. They will ALWAYS choose "the Evil option" in any/all of their 'enterprises'.

<sarcasm>It's official, Climate change is REAL</sarcasm>

US Senate: Yes, climate change is real
Washington (AFP) - In a surprise move, US Senate Republicans joined Democrats and went on record Wednesday acknowledging that climate change is real.

The symbolic amendment, attached to a controversial bill authorizing contruction (sic) of the Keystone XL oil pipeline, was approved 98-1 after Senator James Inhofe, seen as the top climate change denier in Congress, announced he was supporting the legislation.

Hrm... 98-1 is almost unanimous, but it's not so I'm sure it doesn't count.

PS. Please don't take this post too seriously, as you'll be able to poke holes in it so big as to be able to pass an oil pipeline through it... but I just couldn't resist.

Rroush, given that we're dealing with 100 Compulsive Liars; it's not helpful to get your "coverage" from the Corporate media -- another collection of Compulsive Liars. The article below from The Guardian is more constructive, starting with the title:

US Senate refuses to accept humanity's role in global climate change, again

Obviously they can't have done this "again" if they had not voted against global warming in the past. Then we have this:

The Senate voted virtually unanimously that climate change is occurring and not, as some Republicans have said, a hoax – but it defeated two measures attributing its causes to human activity.

Two points here. First these Liars have previously tried to pretend that there was no global warming (ice melting, seas rising) at all. The fact that they have flip-flopped here because the evidence is so overwhelmingly undeniable does NOT rehabilitate their credibility in any way.

The other point is that after the only vote that mattered (acknowledging the reality of global warming); they had two votes on what I've already explained is totally IRRELEVANT: whether it is humanity's "fault" that the planet is getting warmer. Two votes to obscure, confuse, and create IMAGINARY ROADBLOCKS.

But beyond the fact we have Compulsive Liars voting on irrelevant issues in order to create confusion and obstruct progress; we have this:

But Republicans have grown canny about being called out as climate deniers. For the Republican party leadership the current preferred phrase now is: “I am not a scientist” – which casts doubt but avoids outright denial...

When do the Republican Liars use their line "I am not a scientist"? When someone asks them questions about global warming. Here's the point. You can't use the line "I am not a scientist" to avoid answering simple questions about global warming, but STILL participate in an OFFICIAL VOTE in the Senate, intended to form SCIENTIFIC CONCLUSIONS.

Any/every Republican who uses the line "I am not a scientist" is logically required to ABSTAIN from any scientific votes. But none of them abstained, in any of the votes. So we have the Liars implicitly demonstrating that this is all just political theater -- and none of it has any validity.

Voting to acknowledge global warming, but refusing to acknowledge humanity's role effectively BLOCKS any/all action -- as long as the Liars can continue to perpetrate their political theater that this MATTERS (when it is really completely irrelevant).

Any objective/logical assessment of what is taking place here can only arrive at the conclusion that this is all fraudulent political theater, where many of the Actors are knowingly/deliberately engaging in simple obstructionism: lie, stall, sabotage. It's not only "theater", it's a disgustingly repetitive re-run.

US Senate refuses to accept humanity's role in global climate change, again

Senators accept global warming is not a hoax but fail to recognise human activity is to blame, nearly 27 years after scientists laid out man’s role

It is nearly 27 years now since a Nasa scientist testified before the US Senate that the agency was 99% certain that rising global temperatures were caused by the burning of fossil fuels.

And the Senate still has not got it – based on the results of three symbolic climate change votes on Wednesday night.

The Senate voted virtually unanimously that climate change is occurring and not, as some Republicans have said, a hoax – but it defeated two measures attributing its causes to human activity.

Only one Senator, Roger Wicker, a Republican from Mississippi, voted against a resolution declaring climate change was real and not – as his fellow Republican, Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma once famous declared – a hoax. That measure passed 98 to one.

But the Senate voted down two measures that attributed climate change to human activity – and that is far more important...

Jeff Nielson replied to the topic Re: Billionaire Says We Need to Live On LESS in the forums.
Thanks for the posts, DayOwl!

They provide excellent context for me to illustrate the general paradigm of lies-and-corruption in which we live. First we have our governments allowing the banksters to (literally) steal all our wealth with their fraudulent/illegal money-printing. For any who missed my analogy about Gilligan's Island and "coconut dollars", I'll repeat it again.

The Seven Castaways are stranded on Gilligan's Island. But being the banker-like individual that he is; Thurston Howell III brought along his own printing-press for the cruise (you NEVER know when you'll need one). As the island's "economy" starts to develop; Mr. Howell suggests they need their own island currency -- which he calls "the coconut dollar. And Mr. Howell offers to run the island's "central bank", i.e. HE has total control over the printing press.

To begin with; Mr. Howell is an "honest banker". That's because when you run some "con", you always have to start off by creating some veneer of legitimacy. So originally; all of the castaways are given 10 coconut dollars to use in their commerce each week.

One day; Mr. Howell gravely acknowledges that the Island is facing "an economic crisis", and (he tells them) that supposedly the only way to deal with the crisis is with "quantitative easing". What does that mean? The other six Castaways continue to get 10 coconut dollars each week, while Mr. Howell (the recipient of all "QE") gets 100 coconut dollars each week.

What happens then? With LOTS of coconut dollars (and effectively infinite coconut dollars); Mr. Howell starts to offer to pay higher prices for all of the island's goods -- because HE (alone) can afford to pay more. So even though the Castaways have the same, nominal incomes as before, they have become much, much poorer.

Mr. Howell can afford to pay ten times more for EVERYTHING (because the MONEY SUPPLY has increased by a factor of ten), meaning that the coconut dollars are effectively only worth 1/10th as much as before. Mr. Howell has created a system to STEAL 90% of the Castaways wealth, in perpetuity. Of course to make this analogy a closer fit to the real world; Mr. Howell would have also had to MANUFACTURE the "economic crisis" which led to his "QE" stealing.

Now look at our own, crime syndicate economy. The One Bank has access to $100 TRILLION, for free, every year. Meanwhile, the Little People toil away for average incomes of roughly $50,000/year.

This is one hundred trillion dollars:

This is fifty thousand dollars:

The one number is TWO BILLION times greater than the other. By giving themselves effectively infinite amounts of free money, they make all our money WORTHLESS. For every PENNY we earn in our lives; the One Bank is given $20 MILLION, for free. Indeed, the PENNY is now officially worthless in Canada, and has been removed from circulation. Conversely, one can still do quite a bit of shopping (i.e. stealing) with $20 million in ILLEGAL DOLLARS.

This means that they (like the Gilligan's island allegory) are able to STEAL ALL OUR WEALTH, in perpetuity, as we earn it. But even this isn't enough for the Thieves, as we see with the propaganda supplied with DayOwl. The Thieves don't simply want to FREEZE our nominal incomes (as they drive the value of those incomes steadily toward zero) they want to LOWER our nominal incomes -- thus accelerating the speed at which they steal EVERYTHING.

And this is reflected in DayOwl's comment about the Thieves stealing "the value of our labour". It's classic bait-and-switch. As employees, we're offered "X" dollars per year to do our jobs.

While "X" remains the same, in purely nominal terms, the value of "X" steadily/rapidly plunges to zero. The Thieves CONCEAL their rapacious stealing with their lies claiming "there is no inflation" -- while they eat their $43 hot dogs.

P.S. DayOwl did the same thing I sometimes do with my own text-links (lol), and instead of providing the ZeroHedge link, she linked to her own post (that's why it doesn't work). Here's the ZeroHedge link:

$43 Hot Dogs; $47 Burgers And $55 Caesar Salads: A Look At The Davos Menu

P.S. As a final reminder; all of these Liar-Thieves already know that it is THEIR incomes, and THEIR wealth which is extremely excessive. To begin to iron-out this obscene, rapacious inequality (as I noted recently); we would have to confiscate at least 98% of their ill-gotten hoards.
