Mining Companies - Metals Companies
Crowflight Minerals Inc. is a Canadian junior mining company that is currently producing nickel at the Bucko Lake Nickel Mine near Wabowden, Manitoba. Full commercial production was declared at Bucko in June 2009. Crowflight is listed on the TSX under the symbol CML, and on the Frankfurt Stock exchange under the symbol: CMI.
In addition to the operation at the Bucko Lake Nickel Mine, Crowflight owns or has under option an additional 800 square kilometres of advanced-stage base metal exploration properties in the Thompson Nickel Belt in Manitoba and the Sudbury Basin in Ontario.
PRODUCTION
June 1, 2009, it has achieved commercial production at its wholly owned Bucko Lake Nickel Mine (Bucko) located in the Thompson Nickel Belt near Wabowden, Manitoba (commercial production being defined as throughput greater than 60% of mill nameplate capacity).
Initial production at Bucko commenced during December 2008 and the first shipment of nickel concentrate to Xstrata's integrated processing facility in Sudbury, Ontario was achieved by February, 2009. Crowflight has continued making regular shipments of concentrate to the Xstrata facility since that time.

Aug 2009 Mining Update
During the month of July, a new water treatment facility was installed and commissioned at the Bucko Mine due to water issues that were encountered at the end of June. The new state-of-the-art water treatment plant utilizes microfiltration and reverse osmosis purification units. This installation is expected to allow Crowflight to maintain its water balance while complying with all environmental requirements.
Mill operations were halted during July due to a lack of available ore from the main production stope. Poor ground conditions in the stope entrance required the development of a new stope access drift so that mining operations could resume safely. The new access was successfully completed by the end of the month.
The mill resumed operation on August 4th, 2009 at a rate of 1,000 tonnes per day (tpd). A second stope is scheduled to begin production during the latter half of August, providing additional production flexibility. Commissioning of the new backfill system is scheduled for mid August. This system will be used to fill the mined out stopes and will enhance the continuity of mine production.
TNB SOUTH
Under the terms of its earn-in agreement with Falconbridge, Crowflight can earn up to a 100% interest in a 5.5 square kilometre area contained within Mining Lease (ML) 031 (including the Bucko Deposit Resource Block - the area containing the current resources defined within the Deposit).
Technical Reports: http://www.crowflight.com/s/TechnicalReports.asp
The Sudbury Basin is one of the largest nickel and platinum group mineral (PGM) mining camps in the world. It is estimated that over US$120 billion worth of nickel, copper and PGM metal have been produced from the region over the past 100 years.
